Air conditioning system in general benefit from a biannual maintenance performed yearly. The reason being is because during a maintenance the technician will clean the evaporator and condenser coils. When the condenser is clean it can remove the proper amount of latent heat to subcool the refrigerant to the proper degrees. With the lowered head pressure of the system due to the condenser coil being cleaned the system will have a lowered run load amperage and electric bill. The technician also cleans the evaporator coil in place, because with a clean evaporator the technician can get a proper superheat reading on the system. During a maintenance a technician can monitor the compressor locked rotor amps during startup and if amperage is excessive a start assist capacitor may be needed.
